What is Colostrum?

Colostrum is a milk-like substance produced by female mammals during late pregnancy and in the first few days after giving birth. It is the first food that the newborn will receive, and it is a way of transferring important immune and growth factors from mother to newborn. Colostrum contains antibodies that stimulate a newborn infant’s immunity against disease.
